This post is one in a series of posts called “Glimpses of God” which I am writing as part of the Write31Days blog challenge. You can find the other posts here: 31 Glimpses of God Blog Challenge (#write31days)
Yesterday was a day of extremes for me. I tend to operate better when circumstances are like the sea on a calm day, but yesterday felt more like two tsunamis washed over me. One bringing unimaginable joy and the other painful sorrow. I felt like I had barely caught my breath from the joy-filled tsunami when the destructive one hit.
I still find it hard to process all of the details. As I was laying in bed last night thinking about what to write today, I asked God to reveal what He wanted me to see from a day of seeing and feeling so much.
Do you ever feel like things are happening so fast and are so intense that you can’t take it all in?
I saw God’s hand in amazing ways yesterday. I was overwhelmed with His goodness and grace, but then in an instant I was crying out to Him in brokenness and confusion. As I ‘looked’ at each glimpse, the common thread which God revealed to me was that He is my Rock.
Through the joy-filled excitement when I felt like my head was buzzing, He grounded me and gave me a firm foundation from which to jump for joy in Him.
And through the pain-filled sorrow when I felt like I would break, He held me close and provided the firm foundation on which I could lay down and rest in Him.
Yesterday I saw first hand what David meant when He wrote the words:
“The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety.” Psalm 18:2 (NLT)
No matter what life throws at us, we can stand on the Rock of our salvation. Waves will crash, storms will rage, waters will rise, but our ROCK will hold us firm. Our ROCK will uphold us. Our ROCK will not fall.
If you feel like you are falling today, I urge you to grab onto your Bible and ask God to speak to you through His Words. Cry out to Him and hold onto Him. You are NOT alone. The ROCK is right there with you. May we all stand firm on God our Rock today.

The Rock won’t move and His word is strong. The Rock won’t move and His love can’t be undone.
